Dwell Living in Yaletown asked us to refinish two bathrooms that had mosaic tiles on the walls and large format tiles on the floor. The floors were also set over top of radiant floor heating which they thought may be an issue; however, heat transfer and adhesion are not a problem for Microcement coatings. Microcement is a thin overlay, and does not compromise the heat transfer.
We were asked to do a feature wall in the hallway, one guest bathroom with a wall 2 floor finish including a blue pearlescent wall, and an ensuite bathroom including the shower stall.
The finish was made to look like concrete that had some patches, roughness and a few joint lines. The final sealer was a two component matte polyurethane that gave the plaster a 100% waterproof finish. These walls and floors require very little maintenance, have no joint lines, and are highly resistant to mold and mildew.
