Travertine Finish Over Bricks In Lonsdale

This project was done in conjunction with a renovation company that wanted to change the hearth and brick fireplace for their clients. The clients wanted a beautiful cream color in a Travertine finish along with a charcoal matte microcement hearth. The hearth was made of slate, and the fireplace was old brick. We used Nocacolor’s Wall2Floor for the hearth with a matte sealer and a combination of EIFS and Meoded’s Marmorino Palladino with a Z-4 additive to complete this project.

The Travertine finish is distinct in that it has a drag pattern across the fireplace which creates lights and darks that highlighted the grain in the natural cedar they have in their home. The fireplace opening was also modified for a more contemporary look. The f

inish was sealed with a penetrating stone sealer to prevent staining from the wood burning fireplace. The hearth is sealed with two component polyurethane and is highly resistant to stains and heat.
